You also have the problem that you work on more than one computer or laptop and want to synchronize the files? Then I have 2 very useful tools for you to give a try.

1) SugarSync

When you sign up for a SugarSync account, you get access to your own Website to manage your files, look at your images or restore deleted files.

To get started you have to download the SugarSync client from their homepage, install it on your computer(s) – the client works both on windows and mac – and login with your login details. On the first start oft he client, you can add folders to SugarSync which should be synched. But it creates also a folder where you store single files and sync it via drag’n drop, called “Magic Briefcase”.

During your work, the client will sync all your files from the folder you’ve specified and doesn’t interrupt your work. And for those people who don’t know, it doesn’t require direct connectivity to all your workstations. It works even when the other computers are not running at the same time.

A really nice feature is that you can choose if, the folder should be synchronized or all the files are available on demand and stored at only one PC. I can browse through my folders and download only the files I need for my work.
Of course this tool is not free to use, but you can get a 45-day trial with 10GB of space.

Pricing starts at 4.99$/month and 49.99$/year. For me that’s really worth the money.

2) Syncplicity

This tool is available for free use and works only on windows, because it requires .NET Framework 3.0, but there working also on a mac version.
To get started, you also have to download the latest version oft the Syncplicity client and install it on your computers. It’s very similar to SugarSync to add new Folders to sync and manage your files. You can easily exclude single files or sub folders from synchronizing and delete unused files.

A great feature of Syncplicity is also, that I can share my folders with others. For example, if I work in a group of four developers, I can easily share the source files with my colleagues.

The only bad thing and the reason why I use SugarSync is, that there are often down times. That’s really annoying during work, but fortunately, it doesn’t occur very often.

Pricing for Syncplicity starts at 9.99$/month and 99.99$/year, but it’s also available for free use with 2GB of space.

Hey and welcome to my brand new blog.

First I want to thank the guys from Obox (you can visit their site on http://www.obox-design.com). It’s a really great Wordpress theme. I can’t believe that I’m one of the 40 lucky winners, but I’m really happy with it. Thanks again guys and keep on your great work.

So, and now I’m writing a little bit about me and my life. My name is Bernd Artmüller, I’m 18 years old and I’m currently living in Amstetten, Austria. Maybe some of you already heard about this city. My hobbies are playing tennis, going to the gym, chill out with friends and of course web design and developing. I first realised that I love web design a half year ago. It’s not a long time, but I’m trying to learn more and more every day. Before I started to design websites, I tried to develop computer games. But after some weeks I stopped it and thought about what to do next. Then there was a time, where I was really into internet. Maybe a little bit addicted to internet (said my mum), but that was the start of my little design carrier. After two or three months learning the basics in photoshop, html and css, I got my first job. I had to make a website for my uncle. I was very excited and worked every day. Finally, it tooked about one month to finish it, but remember, it was my first project. During the project, I worked together with a classmate, Christian Beikov (http://www.christianbeikov.at), who was responsible for the dynamic things, like the simple content management system and the gallery.

After this successful project we decided to work together. You can visit our site here: http://www.blazebit.com . And now we’re currently working on our own CMS and searching for new clients.

And now your asking yourself, why should I revisit this blog? I really try to make every day new posts about news in the design world, new technologies, web developing and designing and I’ll also try to publish tutorials once a week (including the .psd files or source files)

So, I think that was enough for the first post here. I would really appreciate it, if you visit my site again.
